Youth Violence Prevention Research

We seek to understand how various forms of violence experienced by youth are interconnected, and to find innovative solutions for prevention of multiple experiences of youth violence within health systems and in the community.

The Built Environment

We are conducting place-based research to understand how built features of the neighborhood youth live in–for example, green spaces, street lighting, community centers, & housing conditions–impacts the risk of experiencing violence & accidental injuries.

Injury Prevention

We seek to better understand what makes electric bicycle, electric scooter, and hoverboard injuries experienced by youth unique, and identify novel solutions to improve neighborhood safety for riders.

Human Trafficking and Child Labor

We address wide range of topics at the intersection of human, child lab trafficking & the healthcare sector. How communities, health systems, and high-risk labor sectors in the United States can engage in human trafficking and child labor prevention.
